John Silver Kimani is a Kenyan artist whose paintings and prints have a dream-like quality that is full of color, texture and fantasy. His woodcut prints and paintings have been featured in several institutions among them; Victoria and Albert Art Museum in London and Prince Anderz Emmt De Lilia in Longhouse Collection Canada.
In 2005, he was awarded as “Best Printmaker”, by the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. While in 2016 he was awarded by F. I. E Museum of Printmakers in Yokohama Japan as “Best Printmaker”. He has held several exhibitions in Kenya and globally and has been featured in several publications. John Silver trains aspiring artists and owns the Rhino Care Arts project where he trains disadvantaged children who live in slums.
